Tovio is the platform your child’s academy or tournament uses for match scoring, scheduling, and performance tracking. Where a player is under the age of 18, we need a parent or legal guardian to confirm consent before we process that player’s data.
This page explains what we are asking for, what it covers, and how to give or withdraw consent at any time. It sits alongside our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, a minor’s personal data may only be processed with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. Because Tovio records match, performance, and profile data connected to a player’s training, we ask for that confirmation before an under-18 player’s account is used.
Tovio’s Services are currently in a limited beta with a small, invited audience. We collect and process a minor’s data only as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, and only for participants in this beta.
Consent covers the data we process to run the platform for your child, including:
Section 2 of the Privacy Policy sets out the full list of information we collect and why.
Scores, draws, results, and performance analytics generated during sanctioned tournaments or academy training programs may be visible to relevant parties — coaches, tournament organizers, other participants, and spectators — as is inherent to competitive play. Coaches and academies your child is affiliated with can see their performance data to the extent their role requires.
We do not sell personal information to third parties. Section 5 of the Privacy Policy sets out every category of sharing.
Tovio uses data generated on the platform — match statistics, scoring data, and usage patterns — to train, evaluate, and improve its analytics models and AI-based features. Where feasible this data is aggregated or de-identified.
You may object to your child’s data being used for model training, separately from your consent to use the platform, by writing to us. We will honor that request except where the data has already been aggregated or de-identified such that it can no longer be tied to your child. Section 4 of the Privacy Policy covers this in full.
During the beta, consent is confirmed directly with our team rather than through the app. You can do either of the following:
We keep a dated record of every confirmation we receive. Academies and organizers taking part in the beta help facilitate this confirmation for the minor players they register, and are responsible for ensuring appropriate parental or guardian consent is in place before entering a minor’s data into the platform.
You can withdraw consent at any time, for any reason, by messaging us at team@tovio.co. We will stop processing your child’s data.
Junior player data is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the applicable training program or academy relationship, after which it is deleted or anonymized unless a longer period is required by law.
You may, at any time, ask us to:
You can also raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer. We do not knowingly allow minors to independently manage account settings, payments, or public-facing profile visibility without guardian oversight.
